Hello!

Hello Blogosphere,

I am back, after a week of sickness and stress. I really only have time to write right now because I skipped both of my morning classes. I rarely ever skip anything, but I needed it today. I ran about 7 miles yesterday, and I hope to run today, but I am not sure when that's going to happen. I would prefer to run outside. We'll see I guess. My IT band feels a lot better, so maybe the week off wasn't soo bad. I should have started to run again sooner, but oh well. I ran interval training yesterday, a mile hard, 5 minutes easy, a mile hard etc. Then I did the elliptical. Yay life. Last friday, I saw a man walking down the street in the sunshine juggling. It was probably the highlight of my day. And I wonder why people think I am a stoner?

STATE RADIO!

College Life: So, A, K, and I went to see State Radio tonight at Variety Playhouse. I was going to run, but I think moshing was good enough exercise. STATE RADIO WAS AWESOME. They played Camilo and it was wonderful. We were SO close to the front. I really enjoy music. That, below, is my new shirt. I love the Medusa theme. It's fab. Our trek to little five was slightly... tense. I gave a homeless man a dollar, which of course caused my friends to chide me, but under no conditions would I want to be a beggar, whether or not it was because of an alcohol addiction. That's not why it was tense though... It was tense because MARTA always smells like the smelly kid from second grade, and the MARTA ticket machine stole my money. I schooled A at pool when we got home. 3-0.
I need to do laundry. I think it's going to eat me soon if I don't.
I also need to sleep, because I am having breakfast at 9:30 tomorrow with I. I think I am going to wear this shirt forever. It's so comfortable.

Avoidance of Dumbness

OK, so as to make sure this doesn't become an online diary, I am going to write out a quick list of what this blog will be about...

1.) Running. I will post schedules, experiences, and trials associated with running so that people may gain inspiration or whatever from them. Plus, you see a lot when you go running in urban Atlanta.

2.) Biology. I am a biology major. Because of this, my knowledge of the arcane grows larger every day. I will post interesting things I learn online and in class, as well as the many comics I draw online in this diary.

3.) Long Distance Relationships. My boyfriend/fiance/whatever and I have been together for three years. 2.5 of those years have been apart. Needless to say, I have this whole long distance thing down to an art form. However, this will be on a much more need to know basis. I will, however, discuss the visa getting process more liberally as it does have the ability to impart knowledge.

4.) Spanish. I love Spanish. I speak Spanish. My entire family of inlaws ONLY speaks Spanish.

5.) Creative Writing. I love to write, maybe if I feel so inclined you will READ what I write. Maybe not.

6.) College Life. Because who doesn't want to relive the best years of their lives? :P

So. Recap.

1.)Running
2.) Biology/Humor
3.) Relationships/Visa/Consular
4.) Spanish
5.) Creative Writing
6.) College Life

Late

No running today, it was cold and I was tired, and I don't want to overdo it. I skipped neuroscience to study for psych and was glad that I did. I ate like 600 cupcakes. today was a good day. Now it's late late. I was in the student center with two of my main squeezes, A and L. I have the cutest friends ever. I drew some cartoons while they studied for chemistry, and I might eventually post some up here. I really enjoying cartooning, even though the humor is so nerdy and obscure, it makes XKCD seem readily accessible. Not the mark of GREAT humor, I suppose, but hey, it makes me laugh. There is a bench in the student center that is supposed to look like one of those camel saddles, except it would have to be for a miniature camel, because it's only like a foot high. I like the idea of people riding around on miniature camels, all over the desert. Miniature Bedouin women on tiny camels. Do Bedouin let their women ride camels? I think I read somewhere that they don't, but then again, I think it was actually that they don't let them ride horses. That makes more sense. Who knows. It's late. I am talking about miniature camels. I am going to bed.
Peace and God Bless.

hmm

So, today, when I went to do my first 5 miles, the only other people in the gym were the anorexic girl and the bulimic girl. It was a little disconcerting. In all honesty, it was too much for me, and I ran outside, even though the snot was freezing on my sleeves. Awesome.

Good Morning World.

Got up early with the roommate and went and ate breakfast. It's my favorite meal of the day, because it's healthy and yet delicious and no one judges you for eating a lot of fruit. I had a banana, some melon, and some oatmeal. Those things shall be tagged under "things you could care less about." I have my animal behavior class next, I wonder what prof will imitate today? Thus far, I think his imitation of a pissed off, territorial bull shark takes the cake. Speaking of sharks...

Rotten shark. My friend had it, but she ate it suspended in vodka. She said it was probably the most disgusting thing she had ever had. Surprised? Not me.

First!

Hello, a little about me I guess. I am a college student somewhere in the south. I am engaged to a man I love, and I like animals. I am starting this blog to chronicle my life as an athlete and a student. Most of the personal stuff will be left out. Perhaps you are, however, curious as to why my name is Arvicolinae Lemmini. That is, for those who are unaware, the latin name for our little friend the lemming. This poor little guy and I have a considerable amount in common. We both take off running, and sometimes we misjudge our obstacles and end up drowing in a frigid lake in Norway. I ran 5.5 miles today, which is a short day for me. That made it up to mile 35.5 for this week. My goal is 60, so hopefully I get there! 15 miles tomorrow providing that bio lab doesn't go over. I really enjoy classes and labs, but I enjoy running more, and I can sit in the science center in the dark. Running in Urbania at night is a good way to get murdered. And being murdered hasn't been cool since the 90's. I am currently enjoying, or rather currently am contented AFTER enjoying a nice mug of peppermint tea.
That is all for now.
